We're growing readers at the Victor Farmington Library!  We are very excited to offer the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program for our families with children ages 0-5.  This program encourages you to read 1,000 books with your child before he or she starts kindergarten.  The program is free, the rewards are priceless, and it's easy to participate.

How the program works:
  • Fill out a registration form at the library or download the form here.  You will receive a 1000 Books Before Kindergarten reading folder which includes your first reading log, a complete explanation of how the program works, some suggestions on how to make the most of your shared reading time and some book lists to get you started.
  • Color a leaf in your log for every book you read.
  • After reading 100 books, bring your log to the library to collect a sticker, small prize and your next reading log.  Keep repeating these steps!
  • When you reach 1000 books your child will receive a certificate and a free book.  Your child will be also be added to our 1000 Books Wall of Fame and recognized at a special celebration.
